Clitford Groseclose PIERRE Funeral services for Clifford Groseclose, 54, who died Sunday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, were held Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Harvey Sander officiating. Burial was in the Onida Cemetery.

Groseclose was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Pierre to James and Mary Groseclose. A farm and ranch hand in Part Pierre, he had also worked in Sully and Potter counties. Groseclose was unmarried. He is survived by his mother and a sister, Helen, both of Long Beach, a sister, Mrs.

Ray Braden of Fullerton, three brothers, Robert and Wilmer of Long Beach, and Dick of Onida. Chester R. Smith STURGIS Chester R. Smith, 65, died Wednesday at a ranch east of Sturgis, where he had been working. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m.

Friday at the F. 0. Jol-ley Funeral Home, Sturgis, the Rev. Gerald Christopherson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Smith was born Feb. 9, 1905, to Roland and Cecelia Smith, on a Meade County homestead. He grew up in a ranch in the Pleasant Valley area, and was employed on ranches near Sturgis most of his life except for a number of years spent in Oregon. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Armour Matz and Mrs.

Bessie Erickson, both of Sturgis; and Mrs. Myrtle Mil-lette, Hampton, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Sigrid Martilla LEAD Services for Mrs.

Sigrid Martilla, who died Tuesday night in the David Dorsett Home in Spearfish, will be 1 p.m. Friday at McColley Funeral Home Chapel in Lead, with the Rev. Jack Hills of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in West Lead Cemetery. She was born Jan.

6, 1884, in Helsinki, Finland, and came to the United States as a young woman. She married Elmer Martilla in Chicago Sept. 19, 1910. The couple lived in Chicago until his death in 1967, when Mrs. Martilla came, to live at the Dorsett States with his family, who set tled near Canton in Dakota Territory.
