is a is Nancy Nickelson weds Larry Phillips TODAY bridal news Rapid City Journal Sunday, September 13, 1970 BELLE FOURCHE- Miss Nancy Jean Nickelson, Miss South Dakota of 1969, was wed Aug. 29 to Larry Leon Phillips, Belle Fourche, in a 2 p.m., single ring ceremony. Officiants at St. James Lutheran Church here were the Rev. Reuben Schnaidt and the Rev.

G. E. Landgrebe of Miller. Mr. and Mrs.

Don Nickelson, Belle Fourche, are the parents of the bride. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Phillips, Alzada, Mont. Dr.

David Piersel of Spearfish was the organist and Miss Kay Mateer the soloist. The bride, presented in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor-length candlelight white chiffon gown, which she wore in the Miss America pageant. It featured empire waist, full chiffon sleeves and a bodice covered with gold braiding, rocalle McAllister, Dryden wedding vows read HOT SPRINGS Baskets of pink gladioli and white chrysanthemums graced the altar of St. Anthony's Catholic Church here Aug. 23 as Miss Constance M.

Martin Farrell as soloist. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a Chantilly lace floor-length empire gown with elbowlength sleeves, The oval neckline was accented with sequins and pearls. Back interest was a lace train. Her elbow-length veil secured to a flower accented with pearls. She carried a nosegay of pink roses.

Matron of honor for her sis- Haley, Benson vows read HOT SPRINGS Warren Benson of Oral and Miss Karen Sue Haley of Hot Springs exchanged nuptial vows Aug. 23 in the United Churches here. Officiating at the 2:30 the double ring, Hammerlee. p.m., service was Mr. and Mrs.

The gown featured a lowered round neckline, long sleeves and inverted pleat in the back which formed a train. Her elbow-length veil was secured by a crown of pearls. She carried a white orchid encircled by lilac puffed chrysanthemums on a Job's Daughters Bible. Miss Nancy Pfeiler, St. Cloud, was the maid of honor.

The Misses Janet Eastep and Janet Haley, sister of the bride, both of Hot Springs, were bridesmaids. Candlelighters were Anita Pfeiler, St. Cloud, and Kay Malik, Los Alamos, N.M., cousin of the bride. Verel Benson, Greenvelt, Mrs. Warren A.

Benson was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Steve Kientz, Sioux Falls, and Dennis Mower, Hot Springs. Ushers were Tom Haley, Hot brother of the bride, Springs, John Dierks, Lingle, and Richard Krug, Torrington, Wyo. Both young people are students at Chadron State College. The bride 1969 alumna of Hot Springs High School, while the bridegroom is a 1966 alumnus of the same school.

Jarvis Wallum of De Smet. Vincent is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vincent of Erwin. Miss WaMum is a 1969 graduate of Rapid City High School and attended the Cliff Mann Floral School in Denver, Colo.

She is presently employed in a florist's shop in Sioux Falls. Her fiance is a 1968 graduate of Erwin High School and is employed in Bryant. A Nov. 11 wedding is planned. RENSCH, WARFEL Mr.

and Mrs. E. S. Rensch of Ramona announce the engagement of their daughter, Cecelia of Rapid City, to Jeff Warfel, son of Mrs. Fred Warfel of Custer.

Miss Rensch has attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology for one year and is presently employed at Gibsons. Warfel has attended for two years and is presently working for Custer County. He plans to continue his education in Oregon. A December wedding is planned. Miss Norman NORMAN, SHELL ter was Mrs.

George Kruse, Littleton, Colo. Those in the role of bridesmaids were Cyn- Mrs. Thomas D. Dryden thia Petrusse, Denver, Leslie Boekhout, Hot Springs, and Marti Muchow, Hot Springs. Flower girl was Angela Kruse, Littleton, niece of the bride.

Best man for his brother was Dan Dryden, Oelrichs, with Fred Hageman, Oelrichs, Dave Warner, Broken Bow, and Clark Surring, Rapid City. Ring bearer was Ricky Foreman, Rapid City, nephew of the' bridegroom. Ushering duties were performed by Robert McAllister, Denver, and Larry Martinson, Oelrichs. Following a wedding trip to the Black Hills, the couple is residing on a ranch near Oelrichs. A 1969 graduate of Hot Springs High School, the bride attended Black Hills State College for one semester.

She was recently employed in Wind Cave National Park. The bridegroom is a 1967 alumnus of Oelrichs High School and attended BHSC for one and one-half years. He is presently ranching near Oel- Taylor, Rafferty nuptials Dean Allan Rafferty of Lemmon and Miss JoAnn Dee Taylor were wed Aug. 29 in a 2 p.m. double-ring ceremony at the First Methodist Church.

Officiant was the Rev. Earl H. Butz. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.

Charles A. Taylor, Rapid City, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean A. Rafferty Mrs.

Arthur Rafferty, Lemmon. Mrs. Diane Ketel was the organist and Miss Sandy Schneider the soloist. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, was seen in a floor-length gown of white polyester sheer over peau de Mr. and Mrs.

Philip Norman of Hayes announce the engagement of their daughter, Marica, to Bill Shell, Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shell of Buffalo, Wyo. Miss Norman is a 1968 graduate of Riggs High School, Pierre, and her fiance was graduated from Johnson County High School in 1967. Both are students at Black Hills State College.

Dan Himelspach, Broadus, was the best man, with Jim Rafferty, Lemmon, and Ron Swift, Selby, as groomsmen. Ushering duties were performed by Larry Jensen and Mike Bates, both of Rapid City. A reception in the Fellowship Hall followed. Those assisting included the Mesdames R. M.

Hinsey, Pierre; Gladys Manyon, Denver, Robin Daughters, and the Misses Linda Farrier, Jane Walsh and Cheryl Hinsey. Following a wedding trip to Jackson Hole, the couple is residing at 324 E. Kansas City Rapid City. The bride has attended Black Hills State College and is locally employed, Her husband is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and will return to school this fall for graduate work.
